The covalent bonds between carbon atoms would most difficult to disrupt when put in water.

A hydrogen bond is described as the bond fashioned between an electropositive atom that is, hydrogen and a strongly electronegative atom like oxygen, nitrogen, chlorine etc.

If a compound includes hydrogen atom and when it is put into water then it could integrate with the hydrogen of water. Hence, then there could be disruption of bond.

On the alternative hand, a covalent bond is described as the bond fashioned due to sharing of electrons between the combining atoms.

For example,  A covalent compound and while it is dissolved in water then it will not dissociate into ions. Hence, it is hard to disrupt its bond.

Whereas ionic bond is fashioned because of switch of electrons from one atom to another. As water is likewise a polar compound so, ionic compounds are capable of effortlessly dissociate into ions while dissolved in water.

Thus, ionic compounds may also cause disruption of bond.

Consequently, we are able to conclude that covalent bonds between carbon atoms would be hard to disrupt while compounds are placed into water.
