What is the difference between a physical change and a chemical change? a physical change is only a phase change but a chemical change can be any type of change. a physical change does not change the identity of the substance but the chemical change does. a physical change breaks and forms bonds but a chemical change does not change the bonds. a physical change only changes the color but a chemical change never changes the color.
