You’re given the following substances: C2H2, HCl, N2, HI and Br2, all are gases. A. Choose two. Draw their Lewis structures after applying the A-N-S method learnt in class.

B. For linear molecules, as the ones shown in this example, the polarity of the bond increases as the covalent character decreases. Explain which of the TWO compounds you chose would be the more polar, applying the electronegativity difference method to determine which has the highest or lowest covalent character. Hint: the covalent character increases if the difference in electronegativity decreases (Opposite to ionic character).
