Part E
The students use their results to design a simple device that will effectively remove the oil from the ocean while
removing as little clean water as possible. The design also cannot add new pollutants to the water.
Natalia's group proposes the following:
Some people use kitty litter to absorb oil spills off driveways. We can first scoop some oil off the top of the
water using a spoon, then we'll fill a small cooking strainer with kitty litter and dip it in the water to absorb
the rest of the oil.
Do you think this solution will work? Why or why not?

100 grams of molten lead (600°c) is used to make musket balls. if the lead shot is allowed to cool to room temperature (21°c), what is the change in entropy (in j/k) of the lead? (for the specific heat of molten and solid lead use 1.29 j/g⋅°c; the latent heat of fusion and the melting point of lead are 2.45 × 104 j/kg and 327°c, respectively.)
