1. In a seawater aquarium (1 atm) at 35 psu, 24˚C and a pH of 8.1, you measure a carbonate (CO32-) concentration of 24 µmol/kg. (a) What are the concentrations of HCO3- and H2CO3?

(b) Is the solution saturated with respect to CaCO3 ? What is the % saturation?

(c) If you were to add CaCO3 to reach saturation, how much would you need to add?
