It is actually the wish of the owner who writes the content. Mostly creative work like drawing, painting, new materials making, text book writing, etc will comes under copyright because those resources are created with the help of one’s own imagination.

Things which are not copyrighted can be used by anyone without seeking permission from the owner and those are not found to be falling under plagiarism.

So if anyone need his/ her content not to be copied by anyone or use by anyone then it should be copyrighted.
