Consider a physical transmission medium of capacity C bits/sec between two stations that have I bits of information sent/received in chunks of R-bit packets (where I ≫ R and each packet has a header of size h bits). The inter-packet resynchronization delay in the clock hardware is d sec, which requires that two successive packet transmissions be separated by at least d sec. What is the total time to send the I bits of information ? Assuming that the signal propagation delay is negligible.
