What to do when you are worried except eating, drinking, listening or reading?

Be aware of the thing that you're worrying about. Understand why you're worrying about it and decide whether it is rational or irrational. (example: tornado wiping you out right now - irrational fear // failing an upcoming test - rational)

If it's rational, tell yourself that it's okay and that this whole situation will be over soon. You've done your best and whatever happens will happen. Everyone feels anxiety about certain things and that's okay. You will be okay.

If it's irrational, try your best to distract the unnecessary thoughts and if it doesn't work, try to find out why you're bothered by this particular thing. Maybe it's happened before? Maybe it just scares you for no particular reason? Either way, you are safe. Remind yourself that you are, and that the situation / thing is unlikely.
