Explain irony and why its ironic in 300 words

I’m not sure if I can do it in 300 words but you could probably stretch this out if you try hard enough.

Irony is like when you say how much you hate planes then the first time you get on a plane it crashes. It’s like when you say something that you don’t like or you don’t want to happen and it ends up happening anyways or something around those means.
