When copying a pie chart from calc or excel to impress or powerpoint once the chart has been pasted it cannot be edited

I think this is false.  I'm not sure about Calc and Impress but I tried copying a pie chart from Excel and pasting it on PowerPoint and I can edit it.

I simply click on the pie chart, right click the mouse button and select the following choices:
1) Change chart type
2) Edit data
3) Delete the chart 
4) Save as picture

Once I chose Edit data, I'm directed back to Excel. I can then edit the data needed in the pie chart.
