Activity: Designing Shipping Crates You should now have enough background information to efficiently create a shipping crate calculator. The information you derive from the box dimensions can be valuable to freight companies when deciding how to ship freight from one location to the next. Can the box travel on a plane, a truck, only a train?…etc.

Your assignment is to create a spreadsheet similar to the one you see below. Fill in all of the box dimensions as you see here (the yellow portion.)Your Objective:
Complete the above sheet (no frills) --- just words, numbers.
Fill in all formulas for the blue sections. Once the basic spreadsheet is done, be sure to check and make sure your answers are 'logical'. One should notice a gradual increase in volume as the crates get larger.
Use effective cell coloring to emphasize headings, data table, etc.
Create two meaningful graphs. Build a graph that compares the 'box type' to the 'volume' Build a second appropriate graph of your choice.
Save your spreadsheet as "crates. xls"
