Acombined power cycle relies on a gas turbine cycle and a rankine cycle. heat is fed to the gas turbine combustor at a rate of 50 mw. the gas turbine cycle operates at an efficiency of 0.35. the gas that exhausts from the turbine is still hot and is used to boil water in the rankine cycle. the rankine cycle operates at an efficiency of 0.42.

find:
a) the total power produced by the combined cycle

b) the efficiency of the combined cycle
c) the rate of heat rejection from the rankine cycle

d) if the rankine boiler is operating at a pressure of 2 mpa and the steam enters the turbine at a temperature of 300 c, what is the mass flow rate of water through the rankine engine? you may assume that the water leaving the pump is saturated liquid at 2 mpa.

An engine, weighing 3000 n, is supported on a pedestal mount. it has been observed that the engine induces vibration into the surrounding area through its pedestal at the maximum operating speed. determine the stiffness of the dynamic vibration absorber spring in (n/m) that will reduce the vibration when mounted on the pedestal. the magnitude of the exciting force is 250 n, and the amplitude of motion of the auxiliary mass is to be limited to 2 mm note: in this question type-in right numbers, no decimals, no fractions, no unit. approximate to right number if needed
