A concrete dam 100 ft long is constructed on a stratum of sand-silt soil 10 ft thick and it is 6 ft below the soil surface. The hydraulic conductivity of the soil is 0.1 ft per day. Underlying the sand-silt soil an impermeable rock formation is present.
Considering the level of water in the upstream part of the dam is 45 ft above ground and downstream is at the same level of the ground, draw the flow net below the dam with three flow channels and 12 head drops and the flow rate in gal/day per unit foot of dam width (gal/day/ft).
