Suppose that you want to freeze 1 kg of water for a party, and only have 5 minutes to do it. Relying on nothing but your keen physical abilities, a dixicup, duct tape and a piece of string, you manage to build a refrigerator unit which can do the job. The temperature inside the refrigeration unit is 273 K, and the temperature outside is 350 K. Since you are a brilliant UIUC student, assume that your refrigerator has the maximum possible efficiency. The Latent Heat of Fusion of water is 3.33×10^5 J/kgAssume that the initial temperature of the water is 273 K. Requried:a. What is the change (including the sign) in entropy in the water per second in J/(Ks)?b. What is the heat flow ( Q_hot/time ) into the Hot well per second in J/s?c. How much power must you provide to drive your refrigerator in Watt W? (That is work done per second?)

Afull journal bearing has a journal diameter of 27 mm, with a unilateral tolerance of -0.028 mm. the bushing bore has a diameter of 27.028 mm and a unilateral tolerance of 0.04 mm. the l/d ratio is 0.5. the load is 1.3 kn and the journal runs at 1200 rev/min. if the average viscosity is 50 mpa-s, find the minimum film thickness, the power loss, and the side flow for the minimum clearance assembly.

An open feedwater heater operates at steady state with liquid entering at inlet 1 with t? = 40°c and pl = 1 .2 mpa. water vapor att2-200°c and p2 = 1.2 mpa enters at inlet 2. saturated liquid water exits with a pressure of pa 1.2 mpa. neglect heat transfer with the surroundings and all kinetic and potential energy effects, determine the mass flow rate of steam at inlet 2 if the mass flow rate of liquid water at inlet 1 is given as 2 kg/s.
