A typical run in the NASA Langley 31 -inch Mach 10 Wind Tunnel Facility isentropically expands Air from an initial pressure of p1=4.25 MPa and an initial temperature of T1=950 K. Assume this gas is calorically perfect and it is expanded into the test section where the pressure is measured to be P2 = 100 Pa. From this: (a) determine the test section temperature, T2.
(b) determine the test section density, P2.
(c) if the process was NOT isentropic, would the temperature be higher or lower than what you computed in part (a)? Justify your answer.
