A turbofan operates at sea level at a speed of 850 ft/s. It ingests 270 lbm/s of air into the core and five times this much into the fan (i. e. bypass ratio is 5). The core and fan air are not mixed. The fuel flow is negligible compared to the air flow. The exit areas of the fan and core are 2450 and 2460 in2, respectively. The exit pressures of the fan and core flow are 22.4 and 21 psia, respectively. The exhaust velocities of the fan and core are 1080 and 1190 ft/s, respectively. Calculate the thrust generated at sea level.
