En un experimento llevado acabo en el laboratorio de física , se utilizo un posicionador cuántico para mover a cualquier posición cargas puntuales. Utilizando esa herramienta se posicionaron dos cargas en el espacio, la primera, de 40 nC en la posición (3.0 m, 4.0 m, 0.0 m) y la segunda de -35 nC en la posición (-2.0 m, 3.0 m, 0.0 m). Posteriormente se le requiere que se mida el campo eléctrico generado en un punto (0.0 m, 5.0 m, 0.0 m) y brinde la dirección mediante un vector unitario.
