A theodolite was set up to perform a closed traverse survey of a selected plot of land around engineering buildings on campus. Sidewalks were to be used as property lines and at least seven stations were to be constructed. Station points A, B, C, D, E, F, G were chosen for closed traverse survey. Station A is BMA (elevation 100 ft). All the measured (avg. of face left and face right, if you watched videos) Horizontal angles were EXTERNAL. Following data were measured (Distance/Height units are in feet). At station A; 295° 38' 50", Top Stadia 5.575, Bottom Stadia 4.792, Middle stadia 5.1835
At station B; 180° 04' 55", Top Stadia 3.680, Bottom Stadia 2.795, Middle stadia 3.2375
At station C; 284° 34' 40", Top Stadia 1.180, Bottom Stadia 0.705, Middle stadia 0.9425
At station D; 194° 11' 40", Top Stadia 5.968, Bottom Stadia 5.495, Middle stadia 5.7315
At station E; 268° 45' 30", Top Stadia 6.737, Bottom Stadia 6.100, Middle stadia 6.4185
At station F; 180° 37'25", Top Stadia 7.240, Bottom Stadia 3.460, Middle stadia 5.350
At station G; 216° 15' 25", Top Stadia 4.857, Bottom Stadia 3.460, Middle stadia 4.1585
• Find internal angles of closed traverse
• Perform initial and final checks of closed traverse
• Calculate Azimuth and bearings of all the sides
• Calculate Horizontal distances of all the station points
• Calculate elevation at all the station points, check if final elevation at BMA is same
• Sketch your geometry using provided and calculated data.
