A fluid at 300 K flows through a long, thin-walled pipe of 0.2-m diameter. The pipe is enclosed in a concrete casing that is of square cross section (1 m x 1 m). The axis of the pipe is centered in the casing. The outer surfaces of the casing are maintained at 500 K. Calculate the heat loss per 1m length of the pipe. Please make sure to follow the rules required for all homework assignments.

Water vapor initially at 10 bar and 400 °c is contained within a piston-cylinder assembly. the water lost heat to the surrounding according to isochoric (iso-volumetric) process until its temperature is 150 °c. the water is then condensed isothermally to saturated liquid. for the water as a system, calculate the work in kj/kg
