A tank contains 70 kg of salt and 1000 L of water. Pure water enters a tank at the rate 8 L/min. The solution is mixed and drains from the tank at the rate 9 L/min. Let A be the number of kg of salt in the tank after t minutes.
(a) Write a differential equation with an initial condition (an initial value problem) to model the given scenario.
(b) Solve the differential equation, show work.
(c) Graph the solution found in part (b) by hand or using a computer, label the axes.
(d) Determine the amount of salt in the tank at t = 60 minutes.

Amass of 1.5 kg of air at 120 kpa and 24°c is contained in a gas-tight, frictionless piston-cylinder device. the air is now compressed to a final pressure of 720 kpa. during the process, heat is transferred from the air such that the temperature inside the cylinder remains constant. calculate the boundary work input during this process.
