The Redlich-Kwong equation of state is given by RT a v - b v(v + b)/T where R = the universal gas constant = 0.518 kJ/(kg K)J. T = absolute temperature (K). p= absolute pressure (kPa), and v = the volume of a kg of gas (m/kg). The parameters a and b are calculated by R T2.5 a = 0.427 Pe b = 0.0866 R- Pe where pe = critical pressure (kPa) and T = critical temperature (K). As a chemical engineer, you are asked to determine the amount of methane fuel (P. = 4600 kPa and T, = 191 K) that can be held in a 3-m' tank at a temperature of –40 C with a pressure of 65,000 kPa. Use a root-locating method of your choice to calculate v and then determine the mass of methane contained in the tank.

An air-conditioning system consists of a heating section and an evaporative cooler. air enters the heating section at 10°c and 70 percent relative humidity at a rate of 30m^3/min, and it leaves the evaporative cooler at 20°c and 60 percent relatively humidity. if the air conditioning system operates at a total pressure of 98 kpa, determine (a) the temperature and relative humidity of the air when it leaves the heating section, (b) the rate of heat transfer in the heating section, and (c) the rate of water added to air in the evaporative cooler
