There are always different ways to resolve things, and I do not believe there is such a thing as ill-fated love. A love is only ill-fated if you stop trying and give up. A love that is doomed for disaster is only real when people make it out to be. In Romeo and Juliet, for example, they could have tried to speak to their families about it or found different ways to cope. If they had not been so quick to kill each other, they would have both lived and been able to run away together, or have had to face their families and then plan out the next steps they wanted to take. With Pyramus and Thisbe, they had literally proven to have been able to escape and run away together, just as Romeo and Juliet had. Both of these couples died because of the way they had let themselves become emotionally imbalanced. Pyramus jumped to conclusions and believed Thisbe to be dead, and so he killed himself. If he had just waited it out or cried over her a bit longer, Thisbe would have appeared and they would have succeeded in running away to be together. They were stupid and emotionally unstable, not destined from the minute they were born to be a relationship destined for failure. In A Midsummer Night's dream, all of the different couples could have handled things differently if some of them did not overreact or jump to conclusions. They were not ill-fated. All of these couples just simply hadn't been in an era where taking a deep breath and thinking about things more in depth was preached about.
