When finding a perimeter of a figure on a grade why do you not count the spaces inside the grid

Perimeter means the outside, kind of like the circumference. if you count the inside, it would be area. :) hope this helps.

U dont count the in side beacuse the in side is the area the out side is the perimeter.

Area- When u count the area u do multiplacation like the lenth multiplied by the width.

Perimeter- When u count the perimeter u do addition like all the numbers that are around the figure or basicly anything.
