i just did this today sowe  trace the devolpment through the mother moving to amerixa and having a daughter she wishes to be a prodgy so at first she trys beuty lessons and then that fails because her hair gets all frizzed and they have to chop it off so then she moves on to ripleys believe or not trivia and trys for weeks and fails at it all so her mom gives disappointing face and the kid feels ashamed so then they go to piano lessons where the daughter doesn't try she gives the most ear schreeching notes so her mother gets even more dissapointed and she goes go to college and drops out and she fails one time after another and started to give up
