Why is it important for child-care providers to understand child development?

Ask yourself all of the following questions before you even consider submitting your essay for grading. if your answer to even one of these questions is no, then you still have some work to do. does my introduction attempt to “hook” the reader? does my essay have a clear and specific thesis statement? does my essay accurately tell my story? does my essay indicate why i’m telling my story? have i described only my own experiences? have i used the first-person point of view (the pronoun “i”) throughout the essay? have i clearly indicated where paragraphs begin and end? does each of my paragraphs support my thesis statement? does my conclusion summarize and give closure to my essay? have i effectively proofread my essay? have i met the length requirement? is my essay formatted according to the instructions?

Now long and short works of fiction have different characteristics beyond simply the length of the work. think of a short story that you like and a longer work (novel or novella) that you like. you can use the story and novella from this unit if no other works come to mind quickly. discuss the elements of each work that made it enjoyable to read. what relationship did the form of the work (short story, novella, or novel) have in making it an enjoyable read? what elements of fiction were strongest in the work, and how did they impact your enjoyment of the story? compare the two works you chose. how are they representative of short fiction versus longer forms of fiction?

When i was young enough to still spend a long time buttoning my shoes in the morning, i'd listen toward the hall: daddy upstairs was shaving, in the bathroom, and mother downstairs was frying the bacon. they would begin whispering back and forth to each other up and down the stairwell. my father would whistle his phrase, my mother would try to whistle, then hum hers backi drew my buttonhook in and out and listened to it -know it was "the merry widow." the difference was, their song almost floated with laughter. how different from the record, which growled from the beginning, as if the victrola were only slowly being wound up. they kept it running between them, up and down the stairs where i was now just about ready to run clattering down and show them my shoes. what is the effect of the parallelism used in the above excerpt? it establishes the rhythm of a duet to echo the song. it expresses the same ideas. it mirrors opposite ideas. it is a paradox.
