Dr. Martin Luther King added that sentence because he feels that his message is not getting through to people that has not experienced seggregation in the U.S. When he says that his direct action campaign is not well timed, he knows that to his detractors, his message will never be one of peace and inclusion. To them, no direct action coming from him will never be "well timed"
