What does rukmani notice about the street orphans in the city that makes them seem just like any other children?

In Nectar in a Sieve, while Rukmani and Nathan rest at the roadside, they observe street children at play and merry that moment despite their apparent malnourishment. They observe the street children were playing like other children they were snarling and scraping amongst each other and that turns into an animal when bread scarp is dropped. Knowing the wiles of the street requires, when they see rich men they become beggars. Rukmani compares street children with her own children knowing her own children being this hungry and that her children too acted similar way.
