The saying “opposites attract” really plays a part in the story, Jordyn is more of a active and outdoors person and Mariah is more of a sit inside and read a book. This really shows when Mariah references a harry potter book and Jordyn doesn't get it. So by the end of the story they become really good friends and hope to see eachother again. Showing that people even with the most disagreeable hobbies or opinions can be friends.
