Teenage males have high levels of testosterone and mature slower than teenage females, which is why they are more likely to get into accidents.

Explanation:

High levels of testosterone can make males more prone to anger and more rash in their decisions. Also, being a teenager means that their prefrontal cortex, or part of the brain that makes decisions isn't fully developed, which means they are more likely to do something reckless when faced with making split second decisions.
