How can learning about an authors personal life enchanted the readers experience when reading a story by that author?

I believe that if you learn more about an author you also learn and understand more of where their coming from. If you know where someones coming from and can put yourself in their shoes than its easiest to comprehend what your reading.

By allowing the reader to interpret or understand the story in a new way.
