In literature, mood is defined as an element that,  through words and descriptions, evokes certain feelings in readers. Or in other words, mood referres to the atmosphere of a literary piece. One way to stablishing it in a given narrative is by  setting the physical location  in which the events of the story take place.

A given mood may impact a literal work by evoking emotional responses in readers, ensuring in this way their emotional attachment to the narrative.

On the other hand,  in literature, theme is defined as the literary work's main idea, which may be either implicit or explicit, that is to say, stated directly or indirectly.

A given theme may impact a literal work by giving readers better understanding of the main character’s conflicts and emotions.
