Need asap! counter argument for child abuse

I don't even know how to reply to this.

I suppose some people would argue that spanking a child (a form of child abuse) is the only way to teach a child to do the right thing. They wouldn't call is child abuse, they would call it discipline.

um, what am i suppose to answer here? it just said that he will studied hared because of a grade in spanish.
