If you defend an argument, you need to give the interlocutor evidence that you may be right. This can be done in several ways. If you are an expert in the field, your argument will have some credibility because it is based on your studies and experiences on the subject. However, when you do not master the topic, you must present evidence that is not easily overturned. Statistics deal with numbers and a scientific methodology. Thus, if you base your argument on concrete data, your argument will have a solid support.

dramatic irony occurs when the reader/audience knows more about a character's situation than the character does. the one main effect is that it gives the reader a sense of superiority, or detached superiority. the reader not only seemingly discovers what is revealed, but feels superior for doing so.
