Which theme is found in this story? the boy who bragged one evening, a group of boys were playing catch at the playground. then they happened to notice a few young men performing tricks with their skateboards. the boys were amazed to see the stunts and soon forgot about their own game. one of the boys always liked to show off to his friends. he took the skateboarding tricks as a challenge. he began boasting about how silly and simple those tricks were. he said that anyone could do them. at first his friends didn’t pay much attention to his words. but then he told them he owned a skateboard and had done all these tricks before. the boy, of course, was not being completely honest. he thought a few harmless little lies here and there wouldn’t hurt. he only wanted to make himself sound more interesting so that his friends would think he was cool. eventually, his boasting got so loud that the group of skateboarders heard him. they encouraged him to show them his talent. the boy was terrified at this idea. but he couldn’t refuse without seeming like a coward to his friends. he had been watching the skateboarders for a while and believed he knew enough from simply looking. however, that belief soon proved to be wrong. when he tried to copy one of the tricks he saw, he came crashing down on the ground. after that, his friends laughed at him for making up lies, and his stories always went unheard even if they were true. a. the truth will always come out in the end. b. words are always more important than actions. c. boasting only impresses ignorant people. d. never give away too much information to strangers. e. friendship is more important than popularity.
