In narrative there are different types of narrators according to the point of view they choose to write (first, second, third).

In the first person point of view the narrator is a charater in the story who describes the events as he/she sees it. The reader only knows what the narrator knows and shares.

The way to recognize this point of view is by the present of the pronouns and determiners: I, me, my, mine.
