Task: critical review essay

topic: select any poem or song (could be from your lessons or not). you will then review that work, examining the topic, theme, structure, form, tone, figurative language, sound devices, and/or other aspects of the work that appealed to you. in writing a critical review, there are three questions that can guide you in your writing.
1. did the creator do their job? in other words, were they effective in developing a poem that grabbed your attention, had meaning, used interesting poetic elements, established a tone, used a fitting structure, etc.?
2. where were the creator's greatest strengths and weaknesses? what did the author do well? what could have been better?
3. how do i know? in other words, what specific phrases, lines, or sections from the poem you answer the above questions? use the poetry analysis tool to gather and organize evidence from the poem for your essay.
