Why can a ‘friend’ on social media sites, not really be considered a true friend? what are ‘hidden rules’ for building relationships with people online?

some hidden rules about considering a true friend is be on the look out for how much information you put out their, remember you may not know who your talking to, or what they precieve about you on the other side of the screen. a friend on social media sites is not really considered a friend because you might not really know who they are as a person or how they act. be nice don't be too friendly, act yourself don't try to hard it comes off weird and uncomfortable.

need an opinion.
