many research companies rely on focus groups to determine if a product will be a success. recently, a focus group of teenaged boys evaluated styles of high-performance sneakers. sports shoes from three well-known manufacturers were judged on design, performance, and price. it is no surprise that the boys selected shoes endorsed by famous athletes, regardless of quality or price. maybe the boys would have chosen more wisely if they ever spent their own money on shoes.
