:will someone me with my conclusion paragraph to this, bias, or prejudice, is a judgment rarely based on fact. everyone has a certain amount of bias. those who are biased tend to believe what they want to believe, refusing to take into consideration the opinions of others. for example, someone might have a bias toward a dog breed and bash on a person who owns that kind of dog, despite what the dog is actually like. in the following paragraphs i am going to review several slides and discuss how they are bias. in slide one a woman, sally sadhart, reports “while on a neighborhood walk, i saw a little dog chained to a tree! the poor thing’s tongue was hanging out! ” we already know this is not what she saw. sally used words like “”, “poor”, and “chained” to make the dog appear as a victim. she also claims the “poor thing’s tongue what hanging out” implying that the dog was very thirsty and/or hot. this is a common tactic among authors to appeal to the readers emotion and gain their support. in slide two a man, clifford hype, reported “while on a neighborhood walk, i saw a ferocious pit bull tied to a tree by only a thin chain! the beast was showing its teeth and licking its chops! ”. clifford hype uses words “ferocious” and “beast” to present the dog as dangerous. clifford also mentions that the dog was “tied to a tree by only a thin chain” implying that if the chain broke the dog might attack. in the third and final slide a woman, sylvia seeall, reports “while on a neighborhood walk, i saw a panting bulldog on a leash under a shady tree.” this accurately describes what is shown. her report is very neutral it does not make the dog out to be a victim or a monster but simply a dog.
