Assignment: double-entry journal  complete 10 double-entry journals for your chosen text  as you read, choose what you consider to be the 10 most significant passages from the book (each passage should only be, approximately, 4-5 sentences—do not choose whole page-length passages)  once you’ve chosen your passage, you are going to analyze it for specific literary devices. what do you see? personification? imagery? simile? characterization? hyperbole? identify any devices you see in your significant passage  next, think about the effect that these devices have on the text. why are they significant? what do they add to your understanding of the text at hand or as a whole? you may not reuse the devices. there should be 10 different devices used.  finally, type your chosen passage and your analysis into two columns indicating the literary device found as well as the significance of that device on the passage selected (example below). requirements:  10 total journal entries (following noted expectations above)  all journals must be typed  all journals must follow the format below  all journals must include achs’ plagiarism statement at the top: “on my honor, i have neither given nor received unauthorized aid in doing this assignment.” (sign or  due date will be provided on the first day of school.
