(3) the ancients knew that hot air would rise. (4) arabs spoke about the "jini," a being who rose from the earth. (5) the "jini" inhaled the hot desert air to fly. (6) later, humans would capture hot air in a paper balloon and take flight for the first time. (7) this did not take place until the 18th century. (8) before that time, the idea of flying humans was just myth and fantasy. (9) one of the earliest stories about flight is about the chinese kingdom of ki kuang. (10) ki kuang is a mythical 2000-year-old chinese kingdom. (11) the people of ki kuang were said to fly in chariots with wings.
