In Act I, we find Juliet's father Lord Capulet sending his servant Peter to invite a list of people for a feast in his place. But unable to read, he approaches Romeo and Benvolio who asked him about the list. When they heard about the party, they decided to crash it. They aren't invited for they are from the house of Montague, the sworn enemy of the house of Capulet. Their intention was to compare Romeo's love interest Rosalind with the other young ladies who will be present in the feast.
