when casey walked up, bat in hand, and slowly took his place;

The rhythym on the end of each line is the rhythym, face would be the first so A, the next line rhymes with face so that means its A, next line it ends with hate, so that means it doesn't rhyme with face or place, meaning it is B, and the next line rhymes with hate

i don't really know the circumstances. i personally think not due to it not being fair for all parties and how hated i'd become if i thought it was a good thing.
