it really depends on the person. mainly, you learn a topic that you want to work towards your goal. if you have an endearing passion for something, you focus on learning what you need to, so you can get to that level. now, when you are at that level, thinking like a professional is significant because for instance, any engineering you choose of, requires full listening skills at all times because people's lives are on the line.
