A. allusion = 6. reference to other works or events
If you are reading a novel and you come across a reference to something outside that particular novel, that is called an allusion. For example, you are reading "The Portrait of an Artist as a Young Man" by Joyce, and you see a reference to the Bible. 

B. flat character = 5. unchanging character
Flat characters are very two-dimensional; they are either good or bad, and they don't change much through the text. They are not extremely relevant to the story either, but are there to highlight the qualities of the main character - to make him or her seem better or worse.

C. rhyme scheme = 9. a pattern between lines in a poem
Rhyme is when words at the ends of each line sound the same/similar. A scheme is when this occurs throughout a poem, not just in one stanza. For example, Edgar Allan Poe is famous for his rhymes within a single line, as opposed to the traditional rhyme schemes.

D. stock character = 8. a recognizable but undeveloped character that moves the story forward
Usually, a stock character is very stereotypical and can be found in many works of art because of his or her generic characteristics. For example, Shakespeare loved introducing stock characters in his comedies: Feste the clown, Puck, etc.

E. round character = 7. complex or main character
Usually the protagonist is the most round character in a text. His or her characteristics are highly developed, we have an insight into their history, thoughts and actions, and we see how they change throughout that particular text.
