his faith then was greatly shaken. he began to question, why god allow such things as the death of innocent people and crematorium of babies, events that according to him, he could never forget.

he then begins to fail to do things that were hitherto habitual, such as studying and praying, until he began to reject god. that way their faith was affected.

eliezer was a boy who believed in god, and it is understandable that he had had his crises of faith when he began to see the horrors of the holocaust. eliezer was human, of flesh and bone, he was a limited person, and he had the right to feel angry and powerless before that situation. humanly, it is quite acceptable for eliezer to have this faith crisis. that makes him human. having rejected god was his decision. as human, his faith journey, with assurances,
