When trying out for the track team last year I was really nervous and kept telling myself that I wasn't going to make it and that it was hopeless to try. I eventually tried to change my mindset to be more positive and that its good to try out even if I don't make it because I'll still be pushing myself to try new things. When I finally tried out I felt more confident and was more open and friendly in meeting the people who are were also trying out for the team. Because I was more confident and less stressed I was able to focus all my attention on just doing my best landing me a spot on the team and making new friends.
