When I was finally hungry for pie, there was only one piece of Grandma’s pumpkin pie left in the pan. Jessie and I both wanted it, and to keep the peace between us, my mother decided to divide the last piece. That way, Jessie and I both got a small sliver of Grandma’s pumpkin pie.
