Writers and speakers have an assortment of techniques that they use often in order to fulfill their goals when writing or speaking with an audience. More often than not, what people  seek through writing, more specifically, is to convince an audience of a point of view, or inform the audience on a main idea. Another goal is often to sway a reader one way or another with an argument, or an opinion. When writing, one way of convincing people on an idea is through hard fact, data that can be proven easily. Another way, is through opinion, a very personal point of view that cannot easily be proven because it totally depends on whoever expresses it. However, there are times when these two maners of proving a point may come together and blend and this is called persuasive writing, or B: persuasion. Persuasive writing is a writing technique that uses several factors to produce its effect, which is, as its name suggests, to convince. One of the main characteristics in Persuasive Writing is the use of expert opinion, a combination of opinion and fact comes from the knowledge that has been acquired by a person through study and learning. The use of expert opinion in persuasive writing helps the text give both sides: the personal, subjective, characteristics and the hard, provable fact.

on the other side of the picture, we must learn also to know that guerilla warfare against the germans in, let us say serbia or norway, us; that a successful russian offensive against the germans us; and that british successes on land or sea in any part of the world strengthen our hands.

remember always that germany and italy, regardless of any formal declaration of war, consider themselves at war with the united states at this moment just as much as they consider themselves at war with britain or russia. and germany puts all the other republics of the americas into the same category of enemies. the people of our sister republics of this hemisphere can be honored by that fact.
