using controlled fires to protect areas are not always the best especially wild areas where animals can be in danger and if it does get out of control a ton of land will be destroyed and risking firefighters lives

Wild forest fires cause extensive damage to flora and fauna and result in destruction of man-made property in and around the area of the fire. 

   Controlled fires are used by agriculturists and forest officials to keep wild fires at bay. It involves careful, controlled burning of certain areas of the forest, to clear it of inflammable organic matter. In the event of fire, this cleared of area acts as a barrier for the fire from spreading any more than it has or will.

   In the process of controlled burning, several wild animals are killed and lose their habitat. The thick smoke from the man made fires is also a concern for the animals.
